Home Class

Pastoral Care is nurtured through our House system, with four Heads of House leading six Homeclass teachers.

Each student is placed into a Homeclass with approximately 18 other students who are from Year 8-12. These students are under the care of a teacher who meets with them each morning for twenty minutes and each afternoon for five minutes. During the meeting the roll is taken, prayer is said and the events of the day are discussed.

The role of the Homeclass teacher is to get to know each girl well and thus to assist her to do her very best. As the first port of call for communication, Homeclass teachers monitor their students' behaviour, motivation and involvement in College activities. Homeclass teachers write a pastoral report twice a year on the co-curricular life and achievements of each student. The relationship between a Homeclass teacher and her/his students can become a most special and significant one in the life and progress of the student.

Each student has the opportunity to be elected Homeclass Captain - this is a practical leadership position that allows each student to lead by example concerning the rules of the College, and assist the Homeclass teacher.
